Technologies
The Technology and Enterprise Learning area encompasses subjects from the two distinct but related areas of:
- Design and Technologies, in which students use design thinking and technologies to generate and produce solutions for authentic needs and opportunities
- Digital Technologies, in which students use computational thinking and information systems to define, design and implement solutions.
Students in the Lower school years are introduced to valuable skills and knowledge that allow them to evaluate, analyse, design and create products using the technology process. Students learn to work individually and collaboratively to solve problems and manage projects in a range of different contexts.
The Senior School courses and certificates allow students to focus on areas of interest that support pathways to employment. Our learning area has a strong vocational connection where students can complete a Nationally recognised certificate in Certificate II Workplace Skills, Certificate II Community Services and Certificate II Active Volunteering. Other Senior School courses include Materials Design and Technologies and Food Science Technologies.
