STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education. STEM studies develop generic skills such as problem solving, critical thinking and creativity. These skills are gained and enhanced through the study of Mathematics, Physical, Chemical and Biological Sciences, Engineering and Technology and Enterprise, subjects provided as part of Newton Moore’s Lower and Senior School curriculum.

Newton Moore SHS is dedicated to continually developing and improving its programs, initiatives and strategies associated with STEM, and strives to ensure that students graduate with high level skills and competencies to apply to future learning.

We are committed to providing engaging curriculum opportunities for all students and supporting teachers to expand their knowledge and skills to support student learning.

We provide challenging and rewarding extracurricular activities such as F1 in Schools, Subs in Schools, CSIRO CREST awards, Big Science Competition, Australian Mathematics Competition, International Mathematical Modelling Challenge, Mathematics Olympiad, Science and Engineering Challenge, First Lego League, Curtin First Robotics competition, Australian Science Fair and Newton Moore SHS Community STEM Fair.
